For Alissa Wyckoff, good design starts with a connection to the natural world. As an Assistant Interior Designer at ID.ology, she brings a fresh, grounded perspective to every project, blending a traditional modern style with organic textures, soothing palettes, and compositions that feel considered rather than forced.

That connection to nature isn’t just an aesthetic preference for Alissa, it shapes how she approaches every space she works on, from the materials she gravitates toward to the way she thinks about light, texture, and flow within a room.

A Foundation Built for Both Form and Function

Alissa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Building Science: Architectural Technology & Design from Appalachian State University, giving her a solid foundation in both the creative and technical sides of design. That means she understands not just how a space should look, but how it should function and hold up structurally, a perspective she brings to every project from concept through completion.

That technical grounding gives Alissa an advantage many designers don’t have this early in their careers: an intuitive sense of how a beautiful idea translates into something buildable, durable, and genuinely livable, not just visually appealing on paper.

Nature as a Design Philosophy

Nature is Alissa’s biggest source of inspiration, and that shows up naturally in her work, aligning closely with ID.ology’s own focus on biophilic design and creating spaces that support wellbeing. She’s drawn to organic textures, soothing color palettes, and compositions that feel considered rather than forced, an approach rooted in patience and observation rather than trend.

For Alissa, good design and a connection to the natural world go hand in hand, and she brings that instinct to every space she touches, from concept sketches to final finishes, always asking how a room can feel more grounded, more calming, more connected to the world outside its walls.

Growing Alongside the Team

As an Assistant Interior Designer, Alissa works closely with ID.ology’s senior designers throughout each project, absorbing their approach while contributing her own perspective on materials, color, and composition. That collaborative process has helped her grow quickly, sharpening both her design eye and her understanding of how a project moves from early concept to finished space.

She brings the same grounded, detail oriented mindset to every stage of a project, whether she’s helping source materials, refining a floor plan, or making sure a design’s natural, organic sensibility carries through to the smallest finishing touches.

Personal Rhythm

Outside of work, Alissa recharges through live music, something she says brings out her energy and her sense of rhythm and flow. It’s a fitting parallel to her intuitive, well balanced approach to design, always attuned to movement, and always looking for the right sense of balance in a space.
