Ashley Elcan brings a distinctive, eclectic eye to her work at ID.ology, moving fluidly between cabinetry design and the broader interior design process. In her role, Ashley works closely with clients and the design team to translate a project’s overall vision into cabinetry that fits seamlessly into the larger space. That means thinking through the practical side, layout, storage needs, everyday function, alongside the design side, making sure every detail feels intentional and connected to the rest of the home.

It’s a balancing act that requires equal parts patience and creativity, listening carefully to how a family actually uses a space, then translating that into cabinetry that supports their daily life without sacrificing style.

A Blend of Art and Technique

She holds a BA in Studio Art with a focus on painting, along with an AA in Interior Design Technology, and brings over a decade of experience in residential design to her work. That combination of artistic training and technical education shows up in how she problem solves, comfortable finding original, creative solutions while keeping structure and function front and center.

That range gives Ashley an advantage many designers don’t have, the ability to sketch out a bold creative idea and then work through exactly how to build it, down to the smallest structural detail.

Ashley’s appreciation for history and architecture plays into her design work, giving her a strong sense of how to blend classic character with modern functionality. Her eclectic style and eye for detail help her find the right balance for each project, whether it calls for bold, statement making cabinetry or something quieter and more historically grounded.

Recharging Away From the Studio

Outside of work, Ashley recharges through travel, swimming, and time near the ocean, interests that feed into the same sense of curiosity and creativity she brings to her design work at ID.ology. Whether she’s designing a cabinetry detail or assisting on a broader project, she brings care, imagination, and a strong sense of place to everything she works on.
