Full-Service Interior Design for Asheville's Mountain Communities
From contemporary mountain retreats to traditional homes, every project starts with an idea of what your home could be.
Maybe it’s a mudroom designed for busy mornings, with plenty of room for coats, boots, and backpacks so they don’t spill into the rest of the house. Or a spacious primary bathroom where two people can get ready without bumping into each other. Perhaps it’s the vaulted living room with a cozy fireplace, made for quiet evenings and weekends when everyone stays a little longer than planned.
Our interior and architectural designers work with you to turn those ideas into a home that feels personal from the start.
Healthy Homes, Designed with Purpose
Beautiful design can support a healthier home, too. We consider indoor air quality, lower-emission materials, natural light, and stronger connections to the outdoors, making healthier choices part of the design from the beginning rather than an afterthought.
One Design Team, One Vision
Our designers work together from the start, so the details on paper carry through to the final build. We work closely with your builder throughout construction to answer questions, resolve details, and keep the original design intact.
Our Interior Design Process
1. Discovery + Planning
We start with your goals, priorities, budget, timeline, and property. Our team looks at what the home needs to do better and begins shaping the overall direction of the project.
2. Design Development
This is where the ideas start to feel real. Through floor plans, elevations, and 3D visualizations, you can begin to see how the home will take shape before construction starts, giving you the chance to refine the design.
3. Materials & Selections
This is where the fun starts. With the plans in place, we move into the details that give your home its personality, from flooring and cabinetry to fixtures, finishes, and paint. We help you narrow the options so every choice feels intentional, balancing aesthetics with function, durability, and healthier material options where appropriate.
4. Construction
Once construction begins, our team stays involved. We work with your builder to answer questions and help carry the approved vision through the build.
The People + Principles Behind Your Home
Your Design Team
Our award-winning designers bring more than a good eye to the table. They know how to see the whole home at once.
Our Design Standards
Our core design principles help guide the choices we make to support your comfort, wellbeing, and quality of life.
Biophilic Design
Biophilic design is about creating a stronger connection between your home and the natural world.
That can mean bringing in more daylight with expansive windows, framing outdoor views, using natural materials like wood and wool, introducing organic textures, or creating easier transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Indoor Air Quality
Today’s homes are built tighter and more airtight, which is great for energy efficiency but also means there is less natural air exchange.
That makes the materials brought into the home more important. Upholstery, adhesives, stains, finishes, cabinetry, and other products can release chemicals into the indoor air over time.
We help you consider lower-emission and responsibly sourced options where possible, so your home can be energy efficient.
Aging-in-Place
A well-designed home should continue to work for you as your needs change.
Small decisions made early, like wider pathways, comfortable seating heights, better circulation, and fewer trip hazards, can make the home easier to move through and more comfortable to live in over time.
We consider these details from the beginning, so accessibility feels like a natural part of the home.

Because our team is based here in Asheville, we understand the area. We work with local builders, trades, and suppliers, which makes it easier to solve problems, source the right pieces, and keep decisions moving when construction is underway.
From our studio on Sweeten Creek Road, ID.ology serves Asheville, Hendersonville, Black Mountain, Biltmore Forest, The Cliffs, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, and surrounding mountain communities.
